This advertisement was found in the Living magazine, at the superstore magazine section. This magazine is addressed for people who want to bake healthy recipes, and to refresh or change their daily routine into a better one. NATURE VALLEY’s organization made the advertisement in this magazine because they want us to purchase their products as they are convincing us that the granola bar has only 7 grams of sugar which is not a lot when compared to chocolate. That can help individuals, to have a healthy routine and not feel bad when having a snack. However, there are 2 women where the one on the left is barely fitting in the frame and the one on the left. Their bodies are not shown because of the text. The text illustrates that the granola bar is “CREAMY, CHEWY, AND DELICIOUS”. They chose this font for the text to convey us to try it. Additionally, the fact that it can be carried everywhere as it is in a convenient size that will fit every pocket and every bag and eaten in any place.
To begin with, from the background which is out of focus there is sunlight, and green leaves so they might be in the park but they might be going for hiking. Since the woman on the right who is in her sixties, has a binocular telescope that can be carried to discover astronomy, and she is wearing long sleeves so it might be spring. The upper left-hand corner is showing the other woman who is not showing fully. The bottom of the picture is where they describe the product and the colors are yellow, and green which illustrates the brand’s main colors, the eyes do not get tired. The reason why there is a green background behind the text on the lower side of the picture is to make the text clear and easy to be read. Moreover, both women are wearing cool colors that do not distract the eye and match their skin tones. The orange bag pack adds life to the picture and makes us constantly look at the woman. The picture is clear, and realistic since they are not looking directly into the camera the shot was taken without their knowledge. We can feel the main woman as she is smiling from the bottom of her heart while opening the bar, and the one on the left is also smiling at the product.
It does convey a message because the main woman is in the age that should be caring about the intake of sugar she takes in a day, but since it has 7 grams of sugar and it is delicious, she is being healthier and it can be eaten in any place. In my opinion, the message is effective and it is in the right place to be advertised because the purpose of the magazine is to make people be healthier and have a better routine. The company’s name is recognizable especially if you like to eat granola bars.
