This advertisement is from Acceleration strength and conditioning. The ad is located in the front of the gym and is facing victoria street. The advertisement is used to attract new members and to inform people of what the gym has to offer. The advertisement gives information about the gym and showcases professional athletes that have used the services of the gym.
The advertisement is a large rectangle across the top third of the building, There is also a smaller advertisement on the right side in the middle of the wall. The left side of the large ad shows NHL player and Acceleration athlete Shane Doan playing in a National Hockey League game for the Arizona Coyotes. Underneath Doan is a URL to Accelerations website. Moving left across the ad there is a photo of Doan training in the Acceleration gym. Next there descriptions of additional features that Acceleration offers. Underneath is the phone number to the gym offices. Lastly on the first ad there is the gym’s logo.
The smaller ad in the right middle of the wall gives information about the gym hours and details on the gym. The details are, “youth/adult fitness, athletic performance training, open to the public, sport specific training”. Underneath the details there are 3 photos of customers training at Acceleration along with one photo of NHL player and Kamloops native Riley Nash playing in the National Hockey League.
There are two messages that the owner is trying to get across to the public in this advertisement. The first is providing information on the services of the gym, contact information and the gym hours. The second message is promoting the athletes that Acceleration has trained. Promoting the two athletes with the hope to draw in young hockey players to do the same training and train alongside these NHL players.
I believe that the message gets across to its target audience. Majority of young athletes (specifically hockey) use the services of acceleration. As well as a large group of none athletes. The image/advertisement draws me in. As a person who enjoys fitness I am intrigued at what this gym has to offer. I found this ad in downtown kamloops next to the memorial arena. The ad is very noticeable as it is featured on a bright red building with the advertisement in is in white and black.
Acceleration has positive reviews. It has a 4.8/5 review on its facebook page and has glowing reviews like this one, “Greg is the most knowledgeable, passionate and involved trainer in Kamloops. If you’re serious about motocross, hockey or fitness in general, his training can’t be beat. Invest in your personal well being, go see Greg Kozoris.” (Geoff Klassen – Facebook reviews).
