This advertisement is located on the wall at the entrance of Old Main Building of Thompson Rivers university. It is a paper brochure produced by the “Kamloops city pub” and illustrating its coordinates and range of services there. I found it when I was waiting for my order in the local cafe, while a bright piece of paper caught my attention.
“Kamloops city pub” is one of the oldest and the most famous pubs in Kamloops. The range of their services includes food, drinks, as well as an entertainment program in the form of karaoke. I consider, that the advertisement is executed very competently from the point of view of conceptuality and aesthetics. It is a pink sheet with a black pattern in the middle. At the top right-hand corner people can see an inscription indicating a short version of the menu, working hours and other organization details, that people might be interested in. From my point of view, it was very good idea to make it clear to potential customers about the features of the advertised place and inform them about upcoming events and promotions in the bar. In the middle of the advertising sheet, viewers can see a large inscription that indicates the address of the location of the bar. In my opinion, this is one of the most striking details of the poster by the size of the font. Looking to the bottom right-hand corner of the picture we can see the pub’s name which is differs from the rest of the text by the font color, which, in my opinion, is also a good strategy for attracting the attention of the audience.
I think that the biggest target group of the Kamloops city pub would be young adult people from 19 to 25 and adult from 25 to 40, who would like to relax after a long work or study day or it might be a suitable place for meeting with friends. According to the fact that Old Main Building is the most central building on campus, with the highest passability of people, 90% of them would be able to see this advertisement during walking. I think so because image is very bright and attracting everyone’s attention.
According to the Wikipedia, Kamloops city pub is very popular place among local residence, therefore such type of advertisement might be this type of advertising can work, in particular, for foreign students and tourists.
