Visa 1500 – Assignment 1 Part A: Brianna Kreil – 1380 Summit Drive Unit #2

As I was arriving to work the other day I noticed a new sign on our front door that said: “Bacon on the Crust, New $8.99”.  The image displayed the ‘Bacon Cruncher’, which is currently the pizza of the month at Little Caesars Pizza. This advertisement shows customers that they can get a Medium Pepperoni Pizza with parmesan cheese, asiago cheese, bread crumbs and bacon all on the crust for only $8.99 from 4-8pm any day of the week. The franchise strategically displayed this image on the front door to catch the customers’ eyes upon walking into the store. They also have the advertisement displayed on the middle television screen so customers are reminded of the pizza once again.

Little Caesars decided to present this advertisement on their iconic orange background because not only is orange a bright, eye-catching colour, but also so the public can easily tell what company the advertisement is for. They used large black and white letters on the sections they want to accentuate so the customers will easily understand the product. The company put a relatively accurate image of the pizza so buyers are not disappointed when they see the real product, it also shows little pieces of bacon surrounding the pizza so customers can clearly tell it is a bacon pizza.

As the front counter sales associate I can assure that the advertisement is extremely successful in bringing in sales. Customers will come into the store and say “I would like to try that new bacon pizza on the door” or they will point at the middle screen and say “I would like to try that pizza (pointing and the Bacon Cruncher)”. On average we will sell between 50-100 Bacon Crunchers a night simply due to the location of the ad.

Little Caesars has been trying to improve their image by being more inclusive to everyone’s dietary restrictions. In doing so the company came out with a new product called “Planteroni”. It is a vegan option for the company’s best seller, the Pepperoni Pizza. Planteroni delivers “an authentic, bold pepperoni taste,” and is the first pepperoni alternative on the market to be made with pea protein instead of soy. This has allowed Little Caesars to gain positive feedback from the media and customers for expanding their selection.

Little Caesars is a continuously growing franchise and by branching out with exciting new offers and reaching new customers with dietary restrictions or preferences it will allow them to attract a higher percentage of the population and bring in more money. In my opinion, the company’s advertising is successful in increasing sales and customers.
