Created by the brand Lyncott, the large poster presents the view of a whipped cream product alongside a dessert with a family in the background. The purpose being to promote the digital app of the company that allows customers to order brand products and view food recipes that include the said products.

The image shows in the center of the page the whipped cream product and the strawberry dessert for a foreground. As well as blurry background of a family of three, a mother and two siblings of each gender presumably cooking and enjoying themselves in the process. This given the body language is loose, playful and admits a bright and sunny day. The mother appears to be feeding the sister something while the son laughs. This image is accompanied by text that says “new app”, including a tagline to the side that translates to “freshness and quality at your doorstep”. The edges of the advert show the brand logo on the top left and text reading “download it now” on the bottom right, along the logos of the platforms where the app is available for download. There are also some stylized lines that cross the lower section of the poster that match the color scheme.

The image intends to compel the viewer to download the app by presenting two examples of its function, delivering products and cooking with said products. Thus, we have a dessert made with the Lyncott whipped cream that creates that connection. The second meaning or connotation is implied by the image of the family in the background that suggest that were one to download the app and acquire the intended products, your life would be as happy as the individuals in the background.

I believe the image is successful in informing costumers of the delivery service because of the tagline that conveys the point to the viewer. However, in order to find out that the app also offers cooking recipes I had to go the website of the company. So, I don’t believe it shows that specific asset of the product well. One could indeed make good food with Lyncott products. But how would I know it’s a recipe they made?

The advertisement presented is a large poster placed in along the edge of a former construction site so as to block the view from the outside all next to the avenue “Insurgentes” that crosses all of Mexico City. Red is the most prevalent color, present in the dessert, the logo and the artistic details which makes the ad pop from its surroundings. I’m indifferent to the image as I don’t like whipped cream.

This company sells dairy products like milk, cheese and whipped cream. They recently had to change measuring systems after the government discovered their cream “lacks the required amount of fat.”

“Due to the former, it was informed that, with the intention to guarantee the fulfilment of official laws, measures are being taken internally to align their measuring system with that used by Profeco (Gerber method).”
